We're cooking.

We got a good buy on turkeys recently, so Mr. Cranky has been experimenting with seasonings and stuffings. He found a couple of hickory smoke flavorings on the net, and they are good. By tenting aluminum foil over the bird, he gets the seasoning to really soak in. He's tried a couple of standard bread-based stuffings (we had a few old boxes of Stove Top in the pantry) and also made his own chopped apple and cinnamon and raisins stuffing for one bird. He's planning another turkey for Christmas. I don't know what stuffing he'll use, but he wants to make a cranberry salad that he saw a recipe for. A year ago, he couldn't follow a recipe. We wrote a basic manual for other beginning cooks--it's only $19.95 at The Cranky Yankee
