Cranky is as Cranky does

How does a man get tagged with the CB handle "Cranky Yankee" (and that by his FRIENDS)?
First, he has to be a Yankee. Born in Brooklyn, reared on Long Island, he qualifies. Then, he's very opinionated, very intelligent, and quite willing to speak out. Of course, if he's short-tempered (especially when tired--like from long hours on the road), and does NOT suffer fools willingly, that helps.
Now his driving days are over. 40+ years of smoking have caught up with him, and the steroids for his breathing, combined with more weight than he should be carrying, have made him a diabetic. He's learned to cook so he can get the maximum enjoyment out of the food he can eat and inspired the Cranky Yankee website to teach others what he's learned.
